Indian citizens do not need to organize their trip to Bhutan through Bhutan tourism. Indian citizens should ideally carry their passports while visiting the country but can also carry their voter i-cards.  You will have to fill a permit. Paro the only international airport in the country has flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bagdogra.  You can take a cab from Bagdogra to Phuentsholing.  The best time to plan your holiday in Bhutan would be in spring from March to May, the countryside becomes beautiful with flowers blooming in the valley. The peaks of the Himalayan range are visible in October, nature enthusiast can enjoy trekking then. 

There are many places to visit in Bhutan. Phuensholing is the border town in Bhutan. Karbandi Monastery is the main tourist attraction in the town, Zangtho PEiri Lhakhang is a Buddhist shrine dedicated to Guru Rinpoche. The crocodile breeding center is an interesting place to visit.

Thimpu is the capital of Bhutan 5 hrs from the border town Phuensholieng. The capital city is the largest in the country. The city looks ancient and most of the houses have traditional architecture. Trashi Chho Dzong is a must-visit in your Bhutan travel, the grand fort is one of the best places to visit in the city. The fort was destroyed in a fire several times. The fort is known for its signature white-red-gold combination of color and the tiered roofs. The Changangkha Lhakhang a Buddhist temple built in the 12th century has an interesting architecture. It is an extremely popular tourist destination.

The town Punakha is added in most Bhutan vacation packages. The town is known as the fortress/Dzong located at the confluence of two rivers Mo and Pho. The Dzong was once the capital of the country but also houses the sacred relic  Rangjung Kharsapanu.  The valley and fort are both popular destinations on your Bhutan tour. Tourists can also enjoy river rafting in Punakha.

Paro has one of the widest valleys in the country and is beautiful and is a visual treat. Your Bhutan holiday Package should include Paro.
